What factors determine the price of transmission repair?

The cost of transmission repair depends on several factors, including your vehicle’s make, model, and year, which directly affect parts and labor costs. Another factor is the extent of the damage to your transmission. Regular transmission maintenance can help your transmission last at least 100,000 miles, potentially saving you from costly repairs.

What does automatic transmission service include?

A standard automatic transmission service involves:

Draining old transmission fluid from the pan.
Replacing the transmission filter and installing a new pan gasket.
Refilling with fresh automatic transmission fluid (ATF) to ensure smooth shifting and optimal performance.

Is there a difference between a transmission fluid change and a flush?

Yes. During a transmission fluid and filter change, only the fluid in the pan is replaced, usually four to five quarts. A full transmission flush, however, removes nine to thirteen quarts, draining the entire system to ensure all old fluid and contaminants are replaced.
